One example of translating feelings to a painting is in the piece Hearts Content. I had met Daniel and Paula when I had moved to Tucson. They were at the end of remodeling their home. Finishing the tile, a new interior paint job and putting in new fixtures in their home. Daniel had given me a tour of the home and I saw a consistent color theme throughout the house.
Getting to know both of them over a few weeks it was obvious the feeling that they have together. All of these elements combined inspired the painting that you see on the left.
Daniel's Testimonial:
Here was one of the most interesting people I had the pleasure of meeting and his name was quite easy to remember, being as it is the same as my twin brother. I quickly found myself spending much of my free time discussing subjects that were of interest to both of us and was blown away not only by his art, but by his ability to translate other's feelings to vivid stories on canvas. There are a few series that connect with both my wife and I, and Dave created exactly what we wanted, but didn't know we wanted. We quickly added a few to our rather blank walls in our home, even though the paint wasn't always dry on some. They have brightened not only our home, but our hearts as well, as they embody our feelings for one another and give us a window to see our friend David when ever we wish. Thank you, David, for the wonderful pieces that grace our home.
